Welcome to On The River (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By using our website or making a reservation, you agree to the following terms.

1. Website Use

This website is provided for general information and reservation purposes only.

We reserve the right to amend content, pricing, opening hours, availability, and policies at any time without notice.

A reservation is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email via our official booking system.

2. Reservations

All standard table reservations must be made via our official booking system (Eat App).

Reservations are only confirmed once you receive a confirmation email.

We do not accept bookings via:

  • Contact form submissions

  • Social media messages

  • Direct email

Any booking request submitted through these channels will not be considered valid.

3. Large Party Bookings (9+ Guests)

Bookings of 9 guests or more cannot be made online.

For parties of 9 or more, guests must contact the venue directly by telephone to discuss availability.

Large party bookings:

  • May be subject to a deposit

  • May be subject to minimum spend requirements

  • May require pre-order arrangements

Where a deposit is required, the amount and refund terms will be clearly communicated at the time of booking.

We reserve the right to decline large group bookings that are not arranged in accordance with this policy.

4. Deposits & Payments

For selected bookings, events, or peak dates, a deposit may be required.

Where applicable:

  • Deposit details will be clearly displayed at time of booking

  • Deposits may be non-refundable in the event of late cancellation or no-show

  • Deposits may be transferable at management discretion

Failure to comply with deposit terms may result in cancellation of the reservation.

5. Cancellations & No-Shows

If you are unable to attend your reservation, you must cancel in advance using:

  • The cancellation link in your confirmation email

  • Direct contact with the venue

We reserve the right to release tables after a reasonable grace period.

Repeated no-shows may result in restrictions on future bookings.

6. Events

For special or ticketed events:

  • Separate event-specific terms may apply

  • Deposit or full payment may be required

  • Refund terms will be outlined at the time of booking

7. Alcohol & Responsible Service

On The River operates in accordance with UK licensing laws.

We reserve the right to:

  • Refuse service to any individual who appears intoxicated

  • Request valid photo identification (Challenge 25 policy may apply)

  • Refuse entry or remove individuals behaving in a disruptive, unsafe, or abusive manner

Acceptable forms of ID include:

  • Passport

  • Driving licence

  • PASS-approved ID card

8. Venue Hire

Private hire enquiries are subject to:

  • Availability

  • Minimum spend requirements

  • Deposit agreements

  • Separate written confirmation

A private hire booking is not confirmed until agreed in writing and any required deposit has been received.

9. Liability

We are not responsible for:

  • Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings

  • Service disruption caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

10. Intellectual Property

All branding, design, content, and imagery on this website are owned by On The River unless otherwise stated.

Content may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without permission.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
